DW Design Series Black Satin

I got this kit four years ago. It flew all the way to Ukraine at a time when we didn't have this configuration here. I gotta say, the moment I saw these pictures, I fell in love and started drooling. It looks just as gorgeous in person. Stunning finish. I also got another floor tom and a rack tom mount for a symmetrical setup. It sounds great too! But there's a big downside to satin finish - it's so easy to leave marks... Too easy. And you can't remove them. I have a lot of marks from sticks (or hands?) flying in the wrong direction. And obviously that means you can't play on the shell. So my suggestion is to think twice or even thrice if you plan to share this kit with anyone (like when teaching), or tour with it, or play on the side of the drums.

As advertised and quick shipping in well packed original boxes from DW. The Black Satin is a beautiful smooth finish. This shell pack goes nicely with my Supraphonic snare.

Super impressed with the quality of these drums for the price point. I put my favorite heads on them and they sound awesome. Tuned up real easy. Also very happy with cymbal fusion service. Very happy with my purchase.
