I purchased an LM402 Supraphonic that came with the previous strainer which made it impossible to fine tune under tension due to the tension knob being too thin to get a grip on. This one allows fine tuning without having to disengage or throw off the mechanism to do it. Excellent piece of equipment, all Ludwig snares should come with this one.
