A beautiful kit.
After doing a lot of research and watching a lot of You Tube videos on the PDP Concept Series I decide to jump in and buy the 7 piece Maple kit although the hardest part was deciding what color white or the natural lacquer, I went with the natural lacquer. I looked and looked for the best price from Amazon, Guitar Center, ZZounds.com, sweetwater.com, and more. I came across Cymbal Fusion and in fact they were the only one that showed the natural lacquer finish which made me go with that color. I ordered the kit from Cymbal Fusion at a great price and received it sooner that expected in 2 boxes. One box was the bass drum and two or three other drums and the snare inside the bass drum and in the other box was the other drume with the hard ware for the floor toms and everything to mount the heads on the bass drum and some of the other toms, so there were a lot of assembly to do so buy a power drill and a bit for the lugs it will save you a lot of time. Everything was flawless from the finish to the lugs and the rims, There were extra parts left over after the drums were assembled, The bass drum came with a black pillow that if you want you can tape to the inside of the bass, and also came with a rim guard to protect the rim for the bass drum pedal. I replaced all of the drum heads except the bass drum batter head and the bottom snare head with Evans G2 and G1. I am still tweeking the heads but after two practices my band mates are saying that the PDP's have a great sound and I really like the sound and they look great. Even though they are made from another country DW influence is seen throughout this drum kit. If they perform as good as I hope I may buy the white kit next year.
